Our story
Anthony’s Good Food Market is one of the most beloved historic landmarks among Golden Triangle natives. Established in 1936 as a grocery store in partnership with Bryan Foods, Anthony’s quickly became a cornerstone of the community’s food scene. After running successfully for so many years, owner: Ms. Anthony decided to open her own cafe within the store in 1954. This progression to a full service restaurant continued over the years with different people from all over the area contributing. In 1994, Leo McGee purchased the building with the vision of preserving its vintage charm while introducing live blues music, this being known as the famous “Blues Night” that was a weekly Wednesday tradition for locals in the past but was ultimately halted following the Covid-19 pandemic. In 1997, Carter Frayley took over, infusing the space with New Orleans-inspired flair and expanding the restaurant’s footprint. Then in 2009, after years of working alongside the Frayley family, the Hamiltion family assumed ownership. Ray Hamilton, a third-generation restaurateur from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, brought his deep culinary experience and passion for coastal cuisine to the heart of West Point. Located in the historic Murff Row district, Anthonys has become a cherished dining destination in the Golden Triangle area, where families and businesses alike gather to enjoy an unforgettable meal.
